Crucial to shooting 360 video is correct mounting. To get a perfect Invisible Selfie Stick shot, the two camera lenses must be parallel with the selfie stick (see below). Check out our previous post for more pointers on using the Invisible Selfie Stick.


Always remember since 360 cameras are usually designed with two (or more) lenses, there is a stitch line where the footage from the lenses meet on the side. Insta360 cameras process the stitch line in real time using our proprietary 360 video stitching algorithm. But there are some things you can do when shooting 360 video to make the stitch line less obvious in your footage:


Another thing to keep in mind with all 360 cameras is that stitching will be less accurate underwater due to light refraction. Images underwater are magnified and distorted, which makes 360 video stitching more difficult than on land.


The next stage of editing, if required, is to use Adobe Premiere. This is a great option for editing both 360 and flat video. In particular we recommend it for reframing, offsetting, motion blur and curving keyframes.


Remember when editing 360 videos in Insta360 Studio, three files are saved for every 5.7K 360 video. The first two are named VID_year/month/ day_time_00 OR 10_video number (e.g. VID_20200101_123000_00_001 and VID_20200101_123000_10_001). These two files are the main footage, with one file for each lens. The third file is an LRV file, which is a low-resolution video, mainly used for previewing and AI-powered analysis. When using Insta360 Studio, you only need to input the VID files and can ignore the LRV file.


For posting to social media, export settings vary depending on the platform and other factors. However, here is a rough guide that we use when posting reframed (flat) videos to Instagram, YouTube, TikTok and Facebook:


Nordschleife runs are not without sometimes prominent critics. The British motoring programme Top Gear used the Nordschleife for their challenges, often involving Sabine Schmitz. Top Gear's James May, however, was very critical of the influence of Nordschleife lap timing, saying that it "corrupts performance when it is used by car makers to develop new models. Testing prototype cars on a circuit is nothing new, obviously: it's probably been going on since someone drove a horseless carriage onto a disused donkey derby track. But the 'Ring, through being communal and open to all, encourages a pointless scrabble for comparative lap times that isn't helping you or me."[6] According to Popular Science, "beating the 'ring, and making a YouTube video to prove it, is about the best marketing move a sports car company can make, even one that plans to roll only a double-digits'-worth of cars out of its production facility."[7]


For new entries, this list requires an official manufacturer's press release for manufacturer-conducted tests. If the test has been conducted by an independent publication, an article in that publication is required. New entries require an original, uncut on-board video, showing the lap and the timing from start to finish. A statement that road legal OEM tyres have been used is required.


H.264, also known as Advanced Video Coding (AVC) or MPEG-4 Part 10 is the most widely used video compression standard in the industry right now. It was first released in 2004 as a much more advanced version of its predecessors.


H.264 has the power to lower video bitrates by a much larger margin without compromising the quality of the video nearly as much as previous codecs. This high-efficiency video encoding is precisely what made H.264 become the most widely used codec of all time.


H.264 utilizes block-oriented coding. In other words, it breaks down each video frame into so-called macroblocks (up to 1616 pixels). It then uses data from the current and previous frames to form a prediction of motion, which, in turn, makes for a more efficient encoding process. During the decoding process, these predictions are used to reconstruct each macroblock. The video can then be played through an HTML5 video player.


H.265, also known as High-Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC) or MPEG-H Part 2, is a newer video compression standard and, in many ways, an upgrade of H.264. It came out in 2013, but it still has a long way to go to achieve the same level of popularity as AVC.


Aside from differently-sized blocks, HEVC also boasts a much more efficient motion compensation and prediction technology, making it a particularly good choice for very dynamic videos.


The main difference between H.264 and H.265 is the efficiency of video compression. H.265 requires half as much bandwidth for the same task, but it also necessitates more powerful hardware.


H.265 is better for video streaming, as it has higher compression rates without visible deterioration of video quality. However, H.264 provides enough quality for most everyday uses, and it is still considered an industry standard.


H.265 can compress videos with no visible loss of video quality. However, even if there is no perceived quality deterioration, H.265 is considered a lossy codec, so some quality loss is expected.


Sound is not recored for approx. the last two frames when the compression method for movie recording quality is IPB or IPB-Light (audio:AAC) or [C.Fn 4-2 Audio compression] is set to [Enable]. Moreover, the video and sound may be slightly out of sync when movies are played back in Windows.

There are no limits to the stored files, so data DVD is suitable for the Windows users who only want to store MP4 videos instead of watch them on DVD players. However, once burning the files into the disc, the content cannot be changed unless it is a re-writable DVD.

H.264 (AVC) and H.265 (HEVC) are both standards for video compression used in recording and distributing digital video. Why would you choose one over the other? The main difference between H.264 and H.265 is how each processes information and the resulting video file size and bandwidth consumption used with each standard.


It works by processing frames of video using a block-oriented, motion-compensation-based video compression standard. Those units are called macroblocks. Macroblocks typically consist of 16x16 pixel samples that can be subdivided into transform blocks, and may be further subdivided into what are known as prediction blocks. See the example below.


H.265 is newer and more advanced than H.264 in several ways. H.265 (also called HEVC, or High Efficiency Video Coding) allows for further reduced file size, and therefore reduced required bandwidth, of your live video streams.
